Tillman leaves controversy plagued MPTFs

Bob Beitcher, MPTF board member and from the former president and CEO of Panavision and Technicolor Creative Services, has been named CEO on an interim basisWoodland Hills, CA, February 2, 2010 – The Boards of Directors of Film and Television Fund announced today that Dr. David Tillman resigned as chairman and chief executive officer with immediate effect 2007.
“We are very grateful to Dr. Tillman for his management of the Fund. He has presided over a vast and complex health and social service organization in hard times with loyalty and dedication,” said Frank Mancuso and Joe Fischer, president of Corporate and MPTF Fund respectively
I am very grateful to have been part of that process. I am taking this action in my own interest and in the best interest of the Fund.However, I think the time is right for me to resign my position. “During this period, we have made a positive difference in the lives of many people. “It was an honor and a privilege to serve the film and Television Fund for the past 10 years as president and CEO,” said Dr. Tillman.
In announcing the appointment of Bob Beitcher as interim CEO, Mancuso and Fischer thanked him for his willingness to take office and said: “Bob has been a valued member of the Board and has played an integral role in dealing with the Fund of the challenges. We also asked him to Unit Long-Term Care of its highest priority and to ensure that we honor our commitment to comfort and care for our residents as they transition to other facilities of high quality.It has also demonstrated its willingness to assume a leadership role in the philanthropic efforts of our organization. Work closely with the Foundation CEO Ken Scherer to involve the community’s continued support through a MPTF active publicity campaign.
I am absolutely committed to doing everything possible to improve the capacity of Fund to meet the growing need for health care and social services, now and in the future, and to continue the charitable mission of the Fund. With the support of his staff, the Fund has a great opportunity to meet the growing needs of our industry members an innovative and progressive.In accepting the appointment, Beitcher said: “I’ve been in this industry for over 25 years and I love this organization, what it represents and all you have for our community.
The Board intends to continue actively to seek a permanent successor to Dr. Tillman
