The E Street Band’s Clarence Clemons, who died of a stroke earlier this month, was remembered with a solo of a saxophonist colleagues during transmission.

Chris Brown has turned out to be the big winner of the evening, winning four awards including Best R & B Artist and Viewers Choice. The show was hosted by comedian Kevin Hart.

The BET Awards 2011 honored the living legend Patti LaBelle, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the June 26 release – but several players were honored late.

Snoop Dogg and Warren G took the stage to put on all blacks who performed simple Nate Dogg’s, to regulate. Dogg died suddenly of complications from multiple strokes in March.
