“I’m not a hater,” Bush said. “I do not hate Kanye West. I was talking about an environment in which people were willing to say things that hurt. Nobody wants to be called racist if you believe in your heart race in equality.”
Comments echoed remarks made west during a radio interview last week, when the rapper said he “can not understand how” Bush feels to be called racist. West said he faced the same criticism after the arrest of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards last year.
In an interview with Matt Lauer pre-recorded today that aired Tuesday, West said he regretted his words, Bush said he recently scored the worst moment of his presidency.
