Frank Miller spoke in detail of Xerxes 300 Tracking

From 300 Zack Snyder hit theaters three years ago, fans have been chomping at the bit for a sequel and follow-up. As for the story, Miller said:Snyder always said that depended on whether a cartoonist and writer Frank Miller wanted to write another graphic novel. Well, it seems that Miller has a good deal of Xerxes written and drawn, and recently spoke at length about the project.
The period begins 10 years before “300″ and the story begins with the battle of Marathon, who was the murderer of draw, of course, even if it was a lot of work. The main character is Themistocles, who became a warlord of Greece and built their navy. The existence of the gods is assumed in this story and the idea is that he [is] on the road to divinity by the end of the story. The story is very different from “300″ when it comes to Xerxes search for divinity.
For much, much more than Miller Xerxes on, hit the jump.
The inclusion of Themistocles as the main character is very interesting too, since it is generally considered one of the greatest leaders of history (although the end of his life was affected a bit by the scandal). If you know anything about the Battle of Marathon, then you are aware that cinematically this would be one of the most epic battles ever put to film. As Themistocles, Miller said:
He was nicknamed ‘The subtle serpent always manages to make the exact right things it will be benefit greatly. With Themistocles I have a character that is almost the dead opposite of Leonidas that Themistocles was a lie, complicity, brilliant figure, heroic.
The extension of the book’s plot a bit, Miller spoke about how complex Hero story is much more complex Xerxes 300:
The Athenian naval fleet, for example, is a massive artistic enterprise dwarfed by the Persian fleet, which is also shown in this story. The story is much larger. This story has really huge issues. The story has elements of intelligence, too, and is a sweeping tale of gods and warriors. The Spartans in “300″ were closed for the page as the world became smaller. The story is the weight as “300″ but covers a period of much, much more time – that’s 10 years, not three days. This is a more complex story.
Back in October, Zack Snyder talks about the inclusion of the naval battle of Artemisio of Xerxes, saying:This is not the first time the Athenian naval fleet has been mentioned in connection with Xerxes.
It’s crazy. And the horses and everything. We are doing all these sequences where the triremes all collide and the battlefield is all boats collide for men to cross the boat, and we’re fighting, so it should be fun.
Apparently, the battle of Artemisio be the highlight of the book, and ends on the day of the events of 300:
Xerxes is a megalomaniac and takes everything as a sign of his divinity. I put in what happened after that and what means everything to Xerxes. It is a sequel that is as an extension of 300 “because” 300 “ended so abruptly they all get shot by arrows. I’ve known people like that.
While 300 was very popular in the U.S., the representation of Xerxes in the movie was greeted with outrage in Iran, with many calls on the offensive character revered because of their status in the country. When asked about this, and how the character can be received in this course because of its wider role in the story, Miller said accordingly:
There is a scene of a wide range of Persepolis, for example, which takes power and there are several scenes where you are going through transitions and is shown speaking to his mother and wife and all that becomes much more interesting like character.Yes, I guess it will be seen as a provocation, but in reality to me is a fundamental character in this story and I will explain much more complete. I do my best to crawl inside your head instead of his being the iconic force that simply commands of this great army. There are many scenes with him alone or just with his people.
With Snyder currently in Superman: Man of Steel, it is unclear when and if it will be able to adapt Miller’s graphic novel on film. But unfortunately, we’re ahead of ourselves. Hero Complex piece states that Miller apparently does not intend to direct or co-direct a film version of Xerxes, as he did in the city of sin, saying:The story of Themistocles is absolutely fascinating and the idea of Snyder to face the battles of Marathon and Artemisio am very interested in this film visually. Although not the biggest fan of 300, has Miller’s story has intrigued me cooking.
I just want to be as good as a comic book can be. I do not think it’s a comic film. Zack and depends on the company to operate as a movie.
300 producer Thomas Tull, who along with Zack Snyder has seen some of the pages of Xerxes, spoke about the cinematic approach of Xerxes and how not to make a sequel for the sake of making a sequel:
So let’s see where it leadsHe said that if it was a story that was good and came from Frank and was organic, which is the only way it could happen and would. We have said from the beginning that we will not only do some prequel or sequel – a “301″ – and grab some money.
For now, Snyder is busy with the graphic novel Superman and Miller has not even left yet, so it may be a way out of a movie version of the 300 follow-up. Hopefully these are sufficient Miller gossip for fans until the tide on the graphic novel is released
